Blurb~
If you want to survive, you have to follow the rules…

Mikayla Morgan is wanted for her mother's murder. She's been on the run for almost a year now, avoiding not only the police but the real killer. Tired of running and desperate to clear her name, she breaks one of the most sacred rules: never return to the scene of the crime.

Every bounty hunter on the Eastern Seaboard is after the Morgan girl—but Shaun Denver and his partner snagged her. She's a piece of work, and Shaun can't decide if he wants to kiss her or kill her. When things take a sharp turn south, Shaun does the only thing he can think of to keep her close—he handcuffs them together.

As the danger mounts and the killer closes in, the chemistry between them threatens to explode. Shaun and Kayla will need to break all the rules if they hope to get out of this alive.

My Review~

Mikayla Morgan lives by very strict rules. Rules that will make or break her, life or death. That is her life. One false move and it could cost her everything. Her mother taught her that, ingrained it deep into her brain. So, when she makes the biggest mistake of her life and returns to the scene of the crime, she pays for it, dearly. Now she's in the hands of the person who has been hunting her her entire life, bounty hunters.

They aren't the only one's after her. Someone put a hefty price on her head and the sharks are coming out of the woodwork to catch her. But Shaun and Patrick caught her first. And they are demanding answers before they turn her in. The only problem is keeping everyone away from her long enough to get them. Now they are all on the run and the answers aren't getting any easier, only more dangerous.

Mikayla is a tough girl. She has to be, it is a matter of life and death for her. I really love her instinct to survive no matter what dangers loom. She has quick chops and a fast mind and is able to talk her way out of most situations. But as she finds out there are some situations she doesn't want to talk her way out of. Mikayla is has a rough exterior and bitter attitude that changes throughout the story. She goes from a rugged and dirty rock to a glimmering and almost smooth stone. Of course no stone is without blemishes. Mikayla has more than a few.

Then there is the hot headed, brusk, and hot bounty hunter, Shaun who can't decide what to do with Mikayla. One minute he wants to throttle her and the next he wants to kiss her. All he knows is that Mikayla is in trouble and he is determined to help her through it, even if it means handcuffing them together.

Together Mikayla and Shaun make the perfect team. Shaun is a fighter and has the skills to protect them, while Mikayla has the street smarts to keep them alive. Together they are a pretty lethal team.

I really liked the idea of the story of Rules of Survival and I enjoyed the story, but I felt the story had a few flaws, unfortunately I can't mention them specifically because they will definitely give a lot away. But overall the story was fun.

Rules of Survival was a fun escape. A story of love and life on the run. It was a true story of survival. Rules of Survival is full of action and excitement. And it is more than enough to keep you entertained on a hot summer day. The characters were fun and engaging and had me buying the story.

Rules of Survival will definitely help heat up your summer nights.
